Whoa, Mona Lisa

I’m sure many artists are inspired by music. And I am certainly included in that number. Quite a large amount of my sketches and drawings are the result of a specific song. This is my latest of such results. Listing to The Ballard of Mona Lisa by Panic! At The Disco. It seemed like a good idea to do my own version of the Mona Lisa.

She has ended up looking very much like a heroine out of Bronte novel. The actually outfit was designed based on the Mona Lisa and looking at John William Waterhouse’s paintings, particularly, ‘The lady of Shallot looking at Lancelot’ & ‘Ophelia’. This is just the ink outline. Working on the watercolour at the moment.

“Whoa Mona Lisa I’d pay to see you frown
Oh Mona Lisa
Say what you mean tell me I’m right and let the sun rain down on me give me a sign
I wanna believe”
